Chapter Overview
This chapter describes how to set up a learning environment that is welcoming and
accessible for all children. Therе is a brief look аt research in this area. Developmentally
appropriate practice (DAP) is defined. Learning centers are key to the preschool classroom
environment. Finally, a discussion of developing trust in self, with teachers, with peers,
and with the environment rounds out the chapter.
