Question:
According To You, What Is The Basic Role Of A Computer System Analyst?

Answer:
First of all, a computer system analyst should provide a suitable user-friendly system through his/her
analysis and evaluation skills. Secondly, a system analyst should always recommend other possible
adaptable solutions and within that, he/she should suggest what will be the quality solution as well
as a cost-effective solution for a particular situation. Thirdly, the analyst should create explicitly
detailed specifications that will be easy to understand for a programmer as well as end-users.
Fourthly, the analyst should prepare a system design that is logical at the same time it should be
modular in nature.

Question:
Explain The Process Of Analyzing The Existing System.

Answer:
I have to analyze the system and it's execution, note down the key personnel working on the system
and spend some time with the operating personnel to observe the finer details of the system
performance. Then I have to define the scope and objective of the system and collect all-important
output and documents of the system. After that, I have to make a guideline, note down the
checkpoints and controls used in the system, study the data flow between units, understand output
reports, memos, statements, etc., and create a base document to present before management.
Feasibility analysis is very important after that which will determine whether the system met the
intended objective or not. If there is any deviation I should be in a position to draw a revised system
flow chart and discuss it with the operating personnel. Comparing the cost-effectiveness of the new
system with the old is very important after that. If the revised system is cost-effective and needed,
then after getting permission from the decision-makers about the revised version of the system, it
should start with the documentation writing for departmental use.

Question:

,When you begin a new project, which types of requirements do you gather? Use a specific example
from your experience.

Answer:
First, I collect the technical requirements of the new system such as the programming languages and
details regarding software and hardware compatibility. Then, I compile all the functional
requirements such as standards relating to the transfer of data between a software application and a
network server. These requirements are extremely important in the development and planning stages
of integrating new IT systems. AN EXAMPLE is when I had to upgrade my supported departments
windows devices from windows 7 to windows 10. This involved checking inventory and gathering a
list of all current university purchased windows devices from each department and seeing if what
device models would not support windows 10 and would need to be replaced, researching what
department software is not supported by windows 10, and testing software on a windows 10 test
machine to make sure it is compatible. Also I collaborated with my team to discuss picking out
standard dell config for desktops and laptops to replace all machines that do not support windows
10. Once the new machines came they were imaged with windows 10 and deployment dates were
requested among all supported departments.

Question:
What experience do you have with creating and enforcing software usage policies? Why are they
important?

Answer:
Because without certain controls in place enterprise desktops drift toward a state of disarray,
populated with applications that may drain productivity, threaten security and create license risks.
As apart of both my recent positions at ODU, I have had to enforce software usage policies which
were usually prevented with group policy rights and permissions. Users that do not have local or
network admin accounts do not have permission to install software. But users that were granted
these accounts were monitored.

Question:
What types of documentation have you created in the past? Why is it important to maintain
documentation? wrote written

Answer:
Yes, I have created documentation for my team such as installing/configuring Oracle 12C and
installing and configuring new complicated applications such as SAS 9.4 Users were using Oracle
11g but during the campus wide windows 10 deployment, I tested it with my windows 10 test

, machine and soon realized it wasn't compatible and instead Oracle 12c had to replace it. I had to go
through the steps of installing and configuring Oracle 12C on windows 10 with thourough step by
step directions and screenshots and labels.

Question:
What is a DHCP server? Why are DHCP servers useful for administering computer networks?

Answer:
DHCP (Dynamic host configuration protocol) is a protocol that assigns IP addresses to network
devices on a LAN. This works in a basic network like this. A network device (computer, cell phone,
tablet.) Will request access to the network and request an ip address so that the router can send
packets to the correct place. Think of it like a home address but in the case of DHCP the address has
a "lease" time and can change or the address will be passed to another device if the old devices lease
expires and is no longer on the network.

Question:
Can you explain the differences between SSH and SSL?

Answer:
While both SSH and SSL are encryption and protocol technology for connecting two or more
computers, the main difference between the two is that the SSH encryption encompasses remote
logins and remote control of a business's servers while SSL is encryption for transmitting sensitive
information like tax or banking information.

Question:
What motivates you in this job?

Answer:
The moment when you crack the thing you're working on and it doesn't seem hard and complicated
anymore and you see your work and effort pay off. For me it's the satisfactory feeling of seeing
progress when learning new things.
