Analyzing a Sample Intelligence-Achievement Report




Bob is a 34-year-old Caucasian male who was referred for testing by his caseworker at

the Department of Rehabilitation. The WASI-2 and WRAT-4 assessments were administered.

Based on the results from these assessments, Bob's cognitive functioning is in the average range,

but there are specific academic weaknesses that suggest a possible Specific Learning Disorder

(SLD) with impairment in written expression and mathematics. His intellectual ability combined

with his below-average achievement in certain areas shows us that his academic difficulties are

not due to low intellectual functioning (American Psychiatric Association [APA], 2022).

Bob's Strengths and Weaknesses

Bob’s overall intellectual functioning is a major strength. His Full-Scale IQ is 94, which

falls within the average range. This shows that he has the ability to learn and solve problems like

most adults his age (Cohen et al., 2025). According to his Verbal Comprehension Index (99)

suggests that he has solid vocabulary knowledge, verbal reasoning, and the ability to understand

and express ideas. Bob's Perceptual Reasoning Index is 99, which is in the average range, shows

adequate nonverbal reasoning and problem-solving skills despite his visual-spatial abilities being

slightly weaker.

On the WRAT-4 assessment, the strongest academic areas are related to reading. His

Word Reading score of 99, Sentence Comprehension score of 93, and Reading Composite score

of 95 all fall within the average range. These results indicate that reading is one of his academic
