Is my project following my original plan? How has my plan developed?
I aimed for my project to focus on mathematics, by investigating some of the most prominent
contributors and exploring how they have impacted contemporary mathematics. I had planned
to focus my project on uncovering who the Vienna Circle were and how their contributions
influenced contemporary mathematics. After extensive research, this plan has been adapted to
fit the scope and feasibility of my project. Instead of focusing solely on mathematics, I have
expanded to focus on mathematical philosophy as well. This ensures that I can gain a broader
understanding of the Vienna Circle’s work whilst guaranteeing that I meet my project aims.

Below is an update from the planning review.
This will be particularly beneficial when I begin writing my report as I am able to compile and
reference my research efficiently. In my table, I have included a column to summarise the
information from the sources that I believed were most relevant to my project. By streamlining
this information, it is easier to find particular pieces of information to write about, which has
decreased the time I spend re-reading my notes to find the relevant information. The organised
documentation of my sources means I am able to present a well-structured and thoroughly
supported report, thereby increasing the overall credibility of my work.
This systematic approach has significantly simplified the way I conduct my primary research.
By keeping a record of the information I gained from each author, I can quickly refer back to
this to pinpoint specific questions for each author. This reduced the time I spent writing emails
, to experts in the field of Austrian Mathematics and Philosophy, and consequently, I was able to
reach out to more professors than I had intended to.
In addition to my secondary literature research, I have written an email that I am sending out to
specialists in the field of the Vienna Circle, hoping to gain further insight into the Vienna
Circle which will enrich my project. In the email template, I purposefully left generic sections
highlighted, which I would fill out depending on the recipient. I have also ensured that I
adhered to the ethical and safeguarding policies of my school. An example is shown below.

In order to efficiently manage the responses I have received, I have created a table that
summarises the key information that I have received. The feedback will constitute a focal point
for my research as the advice is tailored to my project, making it especially relevant and
valuable to my work. To respect the confidentiality of the specialists, I have redacted their
names in the table.
I have encountered a recurring problem when it comes to my secondary research. The majority
of the lengthy articles that I would like to read are all restricted with a paywall. To resolve this,
I have reached out to the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) Library to
