Exam coverage for the Emergency Number Professional (ENP)
Certification Exam includes the comprehensive knowledge and
professional competencies required for leaders and experienced
personnel in 9-1-1 emergency communications and public safety
answering points (PSAPs). The certification evaluates expertise in
emergency communications operations, public safety systems,
leadership, technology, administration, and industry best practices
necessary to support effective emergency response and
communications management.
,Ultra-High Frequency (UHF)
400MHz, 500MHz, 700MHz, 800MHz, and 900 MHz. These
frequencies do not carry as far as VHF but penetrate structures
better. May not be able to communicate at distances greater than
25 miles.
Trunked Radio System
All users share the same frequencies, and instead of having a
channel dedicated to a department, talk groups are assigned.
Trunked radio systems are efficient because most conversations are
short in duration, and not all users need access to the system at the
same time.

VHF Low 39-72 MHz, Channels in this frequency tend to travel
greater distances than higher frequencies.
