Ensure there are no gaps between the tabs and the skin.
Diaper the child.
Wash your hands using appropriate technique.
Ask the parent to encourage the infant or toddler to drink or nurse.
Check the diaper every 20 minutes until a urine specimen is obtained in the bag.
Wash your hands and put on sterile gloves using appropriate technique.
Remove the urine collection bag and place the bagged urine specimen in the sterile
cup. Cover the container tightly. Diaper the child. Remove your gloves and wash your
hands.
