, LIFE

Queen Elizabeth I was born in 1533 and became Queen
of England in 1558. She was the daughter of King Henry
VIII and Anne Boleyn. Her reign, known as the
Elizabethan Era, was a time of political stability, cultural
growth, and military success. One of her greatest
achievements was the defeat of the Spanish Armada in
1588. Elizabeth never married, earning her the
nickname "The Virgin Queen." She died in 1603 after
ruling for 45 years.
