The Value Valley Expedition covers a complete first pass through core
place value skills for primary students across all 10 missions: the value of
ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands digits, expanded form, comparing
multi-digit numbers, rounding to the nearest ten and hundred, building
numbers from place value components, and the role of zero as a
placeholder.
A short Worked Cipher Example page appears before the first coded
mission. Expect approximately ninety minutes to two hours of engaged work
for a typical student. Every puzzle answer, along with a full worked
explanation, is provided in the Complete Answer Key page.
Mission Progression: A correct answer unlocks the next mission. If an
answer is incorrect, students should review the challenge and try again
before advancing. Students should advance only after successfully solving
the current mission.
This gamebook is built to align with US Common Core, UK KS2, Australian,
Canadian, European, Asian, and International primary mathematics
curriculum standards.
The Value Valley Expedition includes a Certificate of Achievement. Upon
successful completion of all 10 missions, the certificate may be signed and
awarded by the teacher.

, Welcome to the Adventure
Deep in an old atlas at the back of the classroom, you discover a hand-drawn
map of a place called Value Valley, where every number lives in a house
built exactly the size of its worth.
A note pinned to the corner reads: 'Only an explorer who understands what
each digit is truly worth can journey all the way to the Grand Value Palace.'
