Assignment 1 Critical Reflections (250 words polished essay w/ intro,
body and conclusion)
A. Reflection (topic 1)-How do scientists project future climate change?
1. Identify the biggest factor in determining future warming.
2. What are the scenarios based on, and which one do you think is most
likely?
Over the centuries, scientists used different methods to observe and predict
changes in the climate system. As a result, they were able conclude that the earth
has and will continue to experience significant these changes as a result of
human actions. Some of the changes predicted by scientists are, varying
temperatures, increased in CO2 and other greenhouse gases. In order to
conclude their findings, careful gathering and analyses, formulation of
hypothesis, development of models, and combined use of observations and
models to test scientific understanding (National Academy of science, 2012).
Climate scientists used the following indicators to project future climate
change, people’s actions as they use and produce energy, the implementation of
policies to control emissions, and the availability of new technologies (National
Academy of science, 2012). The way energy is produced as well as how it is
utilized today is clear sign that climate change will continue to increase. Scientists
projected that climate change will increase in the future as a result of human
