The contribution of tourism to the GDP of countries was categorised as either
higher or lower than the global mean (2.5%).
A Chi-squared test was used to establish whether there was a statistically
significant difference in the contribution of tourism to the GDP for these three
groups of countries.
The null hypothesis tested was:
There is no significant association between the level of economic development of a
country and the contribution of tourism to its economy.
The alternative hypothesis was:
There is a significant association between the level of economic development of a
country and the contribution of tourism to its economy.
