Hi Lumist AP Campers and welcome to the first week of AP Chemistry!
This week’s unit is Atomic Structure and Properties. We will start off by discussing
quantitative chemistry such as Avogadro’s number and the mole concept. Many of you
are probably familiar with the Bohr-Rutherford model of the atom from earlier science
classes. This unit will introduce another model known as the quantum mechanical
model of the model of the atom. We will also cover periodic trends and reactivity. There
are some key insights or tips to help you avoid common misunderstandings and
remember key concepts.
The end of this guide includes questions to reinforce your studying and a bonus
question for students looking for a challenge.

Chapter 1 Overview: Atomic Structure & Properties
