Tenses show the time of an action or state. In English, every sentence is built around a
tense, so getting them right makes your writing clear and accurate.
### *1. The 3 Main Time Frames*
All tenses fall into Past, Present, and Future. Each one has 4 aspects: Simple, Continuous,
Perfect, and Perfect Continuous.

**Simple** I write I wrote I will write
