What is the topic in media that is being analyzed?
Celebrities are plastered all over media platforms. They may be posting to their personal
accounts, influencing, and promoting an ad, or promoting a movie or song they have helped
with. Fan base is crucial to all celebrities and their success.
How would the Framing Theory be analyzed according to this topic?
“Framing, as a theory of mass communication, refers to how the media packages and
presents information to the public. According to the theory, the media highlights certain events
and then places them within a particular context to encourage or discourage certain
interpretations. In this way, the media exercises a selective influence over how people view
reality” (Framing theory. Communication Studies, 2012).
When it comes to this topic the researchers, I believe would use social media to measure
how certain ads or posts did to get the most likes or views. When it comes to celebrities, they
tend to have many sponsors or ads that they are promoting, so this theory could be very well.
There are pros and cons to this theory, pros could be sticking similar or crucial ads or
posts together for the celebrity, the con to this is some people don’t appreciate having their feds
crammed with sponsorships. It can sometimes have the opposite effect when it comes to the fans
or consumer base.
This theory is a great way to promote concert dates and times, it could also be a great
way to promote a movie, or song release. Using this theory to do other posts or sponsorships may
not be the best decision. However, concert dates and times are what every fan is looking for and
they need as much information they can get in order to have the correct details to get tickets or to
look into the event.
