Mound Systems: - ANSWER-Mounds are an excellent treatment
and dispersal choice on appropriate sites, but they are not very
forgiving. Special attention must be given to siting, design, pre-
construction planning, site preparation, filter media selection,
construction and maintenance of these systems. Quality
control throughout the process cannot be overemphasized.

developed for those site conditions in which adequate vertical
separation is not available between the bottom of a SSAS and a
restrictive layer, or a water table.
Mound system design addresses the following site and soil

unprotected aquifers or shallow permeable soils overlying

corporations with demonstrated capacity to assure long-term
