While Christians engaging with atheist ideas such as Marx’s ideologies can be seen as a threat and
contradiction to their beliefs, it is important that these people engage with atheists, and even
people of other religions, in order to get a wider view of the opinions present in today's society. This
can help them to be more understanding and tolerant of these people’s ideas, as well as creating
debate in society, which can help to strengthen and develop a Christians core beliefs, as they have to
question what they believe to be absolutely true.

Marx was a member of the communist party who aimed to overthrow the class system in the aim of
a fairer and more equal society. He had strong criticisms of capitalism, saying that modern work is
