Country/Scenario: Identify and describe the country selected for this problem or scenario.
Actions Required:
The country I will be researching and discussing the import and export documentation for the
United Kingdom (UK). The UK will include England, Scottland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
The UK has some great online tools to help look for information on import/export that I will use
to find the information I need, gov.uk has everything you need to know.
What information did you find?
In order to begin the process of doing business with the United Kingdom, you will need an
Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) number. This number is needed to
move goods between Great Britain (England, Scottland, and Wales) or the Isles of Man and any
other country to include the EU. This also includes imports and exports between Great Britain
and Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland and countries outside the EU.
Next, many items in being imported to the UK have special rules and may need licenses or
certificates in order to be imported. Animals and animal products, plants and plant products,
high risk foods, human medicine, controlled drugs, guns, knives, swords, and other weapons, just
