algorithms, programming, and machine learning. Avg. salary: $126k | Job growth: 22%.
Departmental BI Development of one or a few related BI applications, often funded for a specific
department's need (e.g., Campaign Management for marketing).
Enterprise-wide BI BI infrastructure that impacts and benefits the entire organization. High costs are
offset by savings from consolidating systems and the competitive advantage gained.
Organizational Transformation BI Transforms how a company competes and changes its business model. Funded by
top executives. Example: Harrah's Entertainment 'Total Rewards' program used BI to
become a gaming industry leader.
