1.1 Children's Story Podcast Script
Title: Lolo and the Great Ocean Rescue
Topic: Under the Sea / Climate Change
Characters:
Lolo (a brave little clownfish)
Grandpa Taku (an old wise sea turtle)
Sisi (a playful but worried dolphin calf)
Target Age: 4-10 years
Duration: Approximately 5 minutes
,[SOUND EFFECT: Gentle ocean waves and soft bubbly sounds]
NARRATOR: Welcome to Storytime, everyone! Today, we're diving deep under
the
ocean to meet our friend Lolo the clownfish. Close your eyes and imagine blue water all
around you...
[SOUND EFFECT: Playful swimming sounds]
NARRATOR: Lolo was swimming through his beautiful coral reef home. But something
was wrong.
LOLO (worried voice): Grandpa Taku! Grandpa Taku! Where are all the colourful
corals? Everything looks grey and sad!
GRANDPA TAKU (slow, wise voice): Ah, little one. The ocean is getting warmer, Lolo.
Some of our coral friends cannot survive in the heat. And look at all this plastic floating
around.
[SOUND EFFECT: Plastic crinkling]
LOLO: But Grandpa, what can a tiny fish like me do?
GRANDPA TAKU: Even the smallest fish can make a BIG difference. Let me show you.
[MUSIC: Gentle, hopeful melody]
NARRATOR: Just then, Sisi the dolphin calf swam up, looking upset.
SISI (sad voice): Lolo! Grandpa! My pod had to swim very far to find clean water. Some
of my friends got tangled in old fishing nets. What's happening to our home?
LOLO: We were just talking about that, Sisi. Grandpa says we can help!
, GRANDPA TAKU: That's right. Listen carefully, young ones. Every creature in the
ocean can help - even you. Lolo, you can remind all the fish to only eat what they need,
not waste. Sisi, you can lead your pod away from plastic-filled waters.
LOLO: But what about the humans? They're the ones putting all this plastic in the
water!
GRANDPA TAKU: Ah, but many humans are learning to take care of the ocean too.
They are picking up rubbish from beaches and using less plastic. Some humans are
even planting new corals!
[SOUND EFFECT: Happy, uplifting music swells]
SISI (excited voice): So if WE do our part, and the humans do THEIR part, the ocean
can be beautiful again?
GRANDPA TAKU: Exactly, my dear. The ocean is like one big family. When everyone
helps, everyone wins.
LOLO (determined voice): I know what I'll do! I'll swim to every reef and tell all my
friends to keep the ocean clean!
SISI: And I'll tell my pod to show other dolphins how to swim safely around nets!
GRANDPA TAKU (warm, proud voice): Now THAT'S the spirit. Remember, little ones:
No one is too small to make a difference. Every little action adds up to BIG change.
[SOUND EFFECT: Happy bubbling, cheerful ocean sounds]
NARRATOR: And so, Lolo and Sisi swam off to share the message. The ocean was still
sick, but with everyone working together, it was starting to heal. And Lolo learned that
even the smallest fish can be a hero.
GRANDPA TAKU (softly): The ocean is our home. Protect it, and it will protect you.
[MUSIC: Calm, gentle closing theme]
