Activities - ANSWER-Activities are modules within a workspace where certain tasks
are completed
Navigator‐based activities: - ANSWER-A navigator is a configurable template
that contains a series of sections meant to follow a particular workflow
Rooming Navigator - ANSWER-Has standard sections used by nurses while rooming
a patient. To open a
section, click its name.
Plan Navigator - ANSWER-Dual‐pane navigator with sections related to orders,
diagnoses, and decision
support tools. All sections are open simultaneously
Wrap-Up Navigator - ANSWER-Dual‐pane navigator with sections for finalizing visit
charting. Used most often
by providers. All sections are open simultaneously.
Visit Taskbar - ANSWER-Look up, edit, and sign orders.
Document visit diagnoses
Enter a level of service for an encounter.
Print the After Visit Summary for the patient.
Sign the visit ﴾close the encounter for billing purposes﴿.
Secure - ANSWER-The patient workspace remains open
on that workstation
Log out - ANSWER-All open workspaces close on that
workstation

Order Composer - ANSWER-Use the order composer to edit the unsigned orders

Discrete Sig - ANSWER-In Epic each part of the sig is a separate field referred to as
discrete sig
Discrete Dispense - ANSWER-The dispense amount of refills are calculated based
on the duration of the prescription
, Patient Instructions (found where) - ANSWER-Found in the Wrap Up Activity
Pre Charting Workspace - ANSWER-Used by Clinicians to queue up orders, enter
visit diagnosis, and begin notes in an upcoming appointment prior to the patient
being marked as arrived .
Sign My Visits - ANSWER-To streamline the process of closing encounters, use Sign
My Visits to finish up fast. Epic button-> Patient Care->Sign My Visits
Report Pane - ANSWER-Allows the user to find details about a scheduled patient.
This can be used to see such things as the pt immunization hx, Open Orders, patient
apts, etc.
Its ending date - ANSWER-What determines if a medication is current?
If an order has a recommended field, the user can sign the order. - ANSWER-True
To close an encounter the user must click the sign visit button. Charging takes place
when the encounter is closed. - ANSWER-Sign Visit
Subjective (Progress Note) - ANSWER-Describes the patient's current condition
including the chief complaint ﴾this is
called history of present illness or HPI﴿. Subjective includes pertinent and
negative symptoms ﴾negative means patient denies﴿ in a review of body systems
﴾ROS﴿. Pertinent medical, surgical, family, and other history along with current
medications and allergies are also referred to.
Objective (Progress Note) - ANSWER-Includes constitutional data and findings from
the physical examination
Assessment (Progress Note) - ANSWER-A summary of the diagnosis.
Plan - ANSWER-The plan for treatment. Includes patient education, orders, and
when the patient
should follow‐up.
SmartPhrases - ANSWER-essentially macros--they are shortcuts used to enter text
quickly. Long words, phrases, or paragraphs
SmartLink - ANSWER-Can be used to pull information from the patients chart into
the office note. For example, smartlink Lastlab will pull the patients recent lab values,
VS will pull vitals.
