Latino America comprises several countries, including Mexico, all of Central
America, Caribbean states, and all of South America. The total population of Latino
America is over 650 million people, which is made up of different nationalities,
cultures, languages, climates, and political systems. Most countries in the region
were conquered and colonized by either the Spaniards or Portuguese since the
sixteenth century. It means colonialism was instrumental in shaping the linguistic,
economic, religious, and social features of the area. In addition, most nations
became independent during the nineteenth century but still faced political unrest,
dictatorships, civil wars, and economic disparities.

In modern days, most nations in Latino America have been struggling with various
political, economic, and social challenges. They include corruption, organized crime,
poverty, economic disparity, and others. Nevertheless, there are some countries in
the region that have achieved economic development via agriculture, mining,
tourism, industry, trade, and others. There are some of the nations that are
considered economic giants in the region, including Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina.
Besides, Latino America boasts of possessing vast resources, such as oil, copper,
lithium, rainforests, arable lands, among others. Contemporary issues in Latino
America involve deforestation, politics, protests, drug abuse, inflation, immigration,
among others.
