interventions used for deviations of the endocrine, integumentary, sensory,
musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, respiratory and cardiovascular systems and the
common pharmacological agents used in for treatment of system dysfunction.
Pre-requisites/Co-requisites: Prerequisites: NURS 300; NURS 301; NURS 314; NURS

Course Overview:
This course will examine pathological alterations in function of the following body
systems: endocrine, integumentary, sensory, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, chronic
respiratory and cardiovascular. Using a variety of learning methods, students will review
the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical signs & symptoms, diagnostic measures and
therapeutic measures for various disease states. Emphasis will be given to
pharmacological methods of therapy as non- pharmacologic methods are discussed in
NURS 322. Readings in this course have been established to provide a beginning
understanding of pathophysiology as it relates to pharmacologic therapy. Reading in
this course will not cover pediatrics and pregnancy nor will it include cancer of any type,
stroke, muscle wasting diseases r/t neurological conditions, reproductive disorders,
