MyModules Instructions 2026:
For assessment 03, you are required to submit the first part of the research proposal of
your own topic, that consists of the following sections:
➢ Cover/title page (1 page)
➢ Table of Contents (1 page)
➢ Abstract (1 page of not more than 250 words). Note that the abstract must be
written in future tense. If you fail to do so you will be penalised.
➢ Keywords (written under the abstract on the same page).
➢ Introduction (1 - 3 pages)
➢ References (1 - 2 pages)
The other sections of the assessment (thus, Literature review, Research methodology,
and Ethical considerations) will form part of the complete proposal to be submitted as
assessment 06.
TO DO:
• Work through Learning activities in the Tutorial letter 103. Note that your
assessment 3 must not exceed eight (8) pages.
• Make sure your submission is comprehensive and contains all the required
information.
• This can be ascertained by reviewing your assessment with the Research Review
Inventory (R.R.I. version 3).
• The R.R.I. (version 3) is presented in
the Resources section of Tutorial Letter 102.

Assessment 03 should adhere to specific criteria to be eligible for marking. The
following are grounds for exclusion:
1. The Turnitin Similarity Index is above 30% (The higher the similarity index, the
higher the likelihood of plagiarism).
2. Should any source used be more than 5%, you will be penalized as this suggests that
a single literature source was overused.
3. An existing or previously listed research topic from another course or module was
used (for example HRPYC81, or any other module at any university). You may NOT
resubmit an assessment from any other module, course, or university for this module.
4. A completed research project or research article was submitted. (This is not
appropriate, and it was not part of the instructions for the assignment. It is also
probably unethical as the research was not subjected to ethical oversight by the
HMPYC80 lecturers and Unisa.).
5. A file that was corrupt or illegible (documents should be submitted in a legible
format, as an Adobe Acrobat (*.PDF) text file with selectable text. If the text file could
not be read by Turnitin it will be considered invalid and disqualified).
6. If the file could not be read by Turnitin it will be considered invalid and disqualified.
You are also not allowed to submit an assessment that does not consist of legible text
that can be read by Turnitin. Do not submit a PDF file that was saved as an image file, as
Turnitin cannot read these.
7. Assessments should be submitted in a legible format as an Adobe Acrobat (*.PDF)
file with selectable text.
8. A wrong document was submitted for this assessment. If a “wrong document” was
submitted the file will be disqualified as it is an invalid assignment.
9. It is your responsibility to double check your document before uploading it on the
myUnisa assignment system.
