,Welcome! You have made it to your last quarter of Galen and let
me tell you, it is going to fly by! Let the countdown begin!!
Disclaimer: I am from the Tampa, Florida location. While the
study material will be the same for all campuses, some of the
specific course info I state over the next few pages might vary
depending on campus or instructor.
This quarter comes with more busy work than you have ever seen!
In the first 9 weeks you will have only taken Comp 1. This means
in the last 3 weeks, you will take Comp 2 and Comp 3. If you are
smart, you will complete all papers, projects etc. in the beginning.
This was my checklist that I made to
stay organized for the quarter. I will
explain the checklist and assignment
info on the next page. This will give
you an understanding of the course
work and due dates

, PRACTICE ATI A and B
—Get them out of the way! You must score 90% so just accept that you’ll be taking that bad boy twice, each.
ATI
—This is the hardest ATI you will take. You must score 74% or above. Study ATI questions. 100 a day. The ATI
is 180 questions. Statistics show students start to get many incorrect after 80 questions. Train your brain for the
“marathon”! Unfortunately, outside material will not help you. Study. ATI Board Vitals is great study tool! $170
after tax. You can name your quizzes so it’s not confusing & split the cost with friends!
—You MUST take the ATI two times (ATI 1 and ATI 2) however, you only have to pass ONE of them. If you
pass ATI 1 you still have to sit and take ATI 2 but it does not matter if you pass it or not if you passed ATI 1.
—If you fail ATI 1, you must meet with your instructor and complete the assigned remediation plan in order to
take ATI 2. Example of remediation plan is provided.
PRACTICE COMPREHENSIVE EXAM
—Completed during theory; not for a grade
COMPREHENSIVE EXAMS 1, 2, and 3
—Grace Reviews are key! & my study guide of course ha…
QUIZZES
—my instructor did not lock them so I took them all in one night.
DISCUSSIONS
—you will submit your initial post and 2 peer responses on three separate days.
Every other week your instructor will respond to your post and ask you a question.
You must respond to your instructor and you must include a citation/ reference.
So every other week you will have 1 initial post and 3 responses instead of 2 responses.
RESEARCH ARTICLE & POWERPOINT
— Knock it out. Example provided.
DOSAGE CALCULATION EXAM & GRAND ROUNDS ISBARR
—Both easy. Done during lab class. Example provided.
EXAM/ATI TESTING DAYS
—You will not have theory or lab that day
—You will have to complete an assignment or participate in a skills day/lab
The task alternates every other time. Assignment due that same day to count as
FYI — Galen attendance. Skills lab was held the same day and we were given 3 different times
cancelled classes we could choose from. It was the same duration as lab class (2 hours)
2 Tuesdays in a
row (last minute)
and made us
attend a 8 hour
mandatory
NCLEX review.
If you do not
show up, you
will lose 8 hours
of attendance. At
the same time,
the 16 hours are
not credited to us
either.
C
CLINICAL PACKETS & PROCESS JOURNALS
—My clinical instructor had us do 6 Journals and 6 Packets.
DELEGATION PROJECT & GROUP PRESENTATION The journal and clinical packet could be done on the same pt.
—Easy. Done during lab class. Example provided. Every instructor is different. Examples provided.
