Causes vasodilation and internal edema
S/S: sudden appearance of wheals, edematous
papules, pruritus
Causes: exposure to irritants, temperature extremes, stress, alcohol,

Tx: antihistamines (could be topical, oral), corticosteroids for swelling, avoid

Nursing considerations:
Remove causative agent, loose clothes
