International trade helps countries to have access to products, there are some countries though who are
against trading. Everyone needs resources but some feel in the long run it may ruin their economy, and
hurt growth and employment. There are barriers put on international trading. Trade barriers are
government policies which places restrictions. A few examples are tariff, non-tariff, quotas, voluntary
export restraint, subsidies and embargo. Most common we hear about is tariff because it means imports
are being taxed on.
With the speed of technology development, communication has made international trading grow more
and more. Globalization essentially came in what’s referred to as “two waves”, meaning there were two
periods of times during the course of history where there was a high influx of technological
advancements that helped the economy to swell in trades across the globe (Ortiz-Ospina et al. 2018).
First wave was during the time of the Industrial Revolution, which was the implementation of machinery
verses handmade goods, then ended when a World War I had begun. Since the second war, technology
advancement made it to where cost agreements have gone down over time, which made a hefty
influence on many aspects involving trade with other countries. Basically meaning various nations
export and import similar goods to make a profit instead of trading for adverse goods. It’s important to
know that if you fail to grow and adapt, it leaves a risk against the market changes, technology growth,
and your company/business could lose employees.
International trade and really just everything in general has developed dramatically due to economy
growing, more people investing/trading, and technology advancements. Every nation has practically
been benefiting from each other. A couple things to also take into factor, customers are asking for more
locations. So when it comes to expanding, it will indicate ongoing supply and demand for the products
being made and sold.
I am currently working for Amazon and it has been super fun. I am also an amazon customer. The service
has been wonderful and customer service representatives are wonderful help when needed. When I
heard of amazon, I was little and it was when the kindle was coming out. So seeing how much amazon
has grown, it is really cool to learn it was originally just for books and now it has bought out some
businesses. Just this year alone there were 36 new amazon fulfillment centers, 6 new distribution
centers, and 102 new amazon office buildings. I’ve learned that fulfillment centers are where vendors
