Today, Pakistani women not only hold their traditional place in the family but also play an
important part in the development of the nation. Most of the obstacles and restrictions
on women’s involvement in the country’s progress are slowly being removed. This is due
to changing attitudes in urban areas of Pakistan. However, the people in some rural areas
still need to take steps to facilitate women’s economic independence and help them
understand their rights. This will help a large number of women to combine their role in
family life with effective participation in the world of politics and work.
