Urgent triage (1-2 hr wait): multiple fx with 1+ pedal pulse 10. Emergent triage (must see immediately): lung collapse, MI 11. Abruptio placenta: no oxygen to baby, very painful to mother 12. Intussusception: knee to chest positioning and jelly-like stool 13. Right sided heart failure: JVD 14. Digoxin: increase K & decrease Ca (green leafy vegetables, bananas, sweet potatoes, avocados) 15. Cath Lab: 33% HCT is bad (could be anemia); 37% is normal 16. A-fib: treat with CCB (Very Neat Drugs = Verapamil, Nifedipine, Diltiazem) 17. Cardiac Tamponade: decreased BP, JVD, muffled heart sounds, clear lung sounds 18. Pericarditis: JVD, pain on inspiration; leaning forward relieves pain 19. Chest pain: if pain is reduced after 1 Nitro tab, give a 2nd dose 20. DM used needle protocol: discard in old coffee can or glass jar 21. HHS: priority is FLUIDS! 22. Grave’s disease and Thyroid storm: report temp increase of 1 degree 23.
