Task 1

A. Classical Conditioning

An example of classical conditioning is the aroma of coffee and making one
feel alert and “up” prior to drinking it. Caffeine is the unconditioned stimulus

caffeine. If I often waited for the coffee as it was brewed, I would begin to
associate the neutral stimulus of the coffee’s aroma with caffeine and its
effects. After repeated exposure, smelling coffee would begin to wake me up
as if I had started drinking the coffee.

B. Operant Conditioning

When I was a kid, I remember my mom telling me not to touch the stove
