A.
1. (A1) For my first packaging option, I would use a hard case for the
mandolin that would sit inside a box. I chose the hard case because it would
keep the mandolin away from any debris inside the box and protect it from
any bumps or scrapes during the shipping process or even when sitting at the
customer's location for daily use. My second packaging option would be a
corrugated box for the hard case with the mandolin inside. I chose a
corrugated box because it would be filled with peanut packaging to keep the
hard case and mandolin safe during shipping to the customer's location.
2. (A2) The first potential risk when storing my product would be physical
damage to the mandolin from falling boxes in the storage room. To mitigate
the possible damage, the mandolins must be appropriately packaged in a
corrugated box, protected by a hard case, and surrounded by peanut
packaging. This will ensure no physical puncture damage to the mandolin
itself, and it can endure shipping also. A second potential risk when storing
my product is damage to the mandolin from condensation in the storage
facility. To mitigate that risk, the storage room must be climate-controlled
and kept to a proper humidity level and temperature to ensure no damage to
the mandolin.
