KOOLSTOF ALS BASIS ATOOM V BIOMOLECULES

Koolstof = centraal atoom v alle biomolecules

Koolstof & waterstof gelijkaardige EN-waardes -> elektronen evenredig verdeeld -> KWS apolair

-> + andere atomen -> andere EN-waardes -> Polair

Isomeren = organische moleculen met dezelfde formule maar verschillende 3D vormen

➔ Stereo-isomeren = verschillende ruimtelijke plaatsing v zijgroepen
➔ Enantiomeren = isomeren zijn elkaars spiegelbeeld ( molecule = chiraal)



BIOMOLECULES:

Nucleïnezuren:

o Coderen, bewaren en transporteren genetische informatie
o Aaneenschakeling v nucleotiden
o Nucleotide = 1/4 stikstofbasen (adenine, guanine, thymine of cytosine), een suikergroep
genaamd desoxyribose, en een fosfaatgroep
o DNA (= deoxynucleotides) & RNA (= ribonucleotides) => informatiedragers v onze cellen
o Complementaire baseparen

Transcriptie:

➔ Gen: promoter, gensequentie (met coderende exonen en niet-coderende intronen) en terminator
➔ Coderende streng = 5’ -> 3’ -> complementair aan de matrijsstreng
➔ Matrijsstreng overgeschreven
➔ RNA polymerase complex aan promoter -> start
➔ Transcriptiefactoren : regelen de transcriptie
➔ Alternatieve splicing = verschillende exonen behouden -> 1 code = meerdere eiwitten
➔ Capping = 5’ einde beschermd
