CONJUNCTION is a part of speech that connects different words, phrases, clauses or
sentences.
examples : for, and, nor, yet, so etc

RULES EXAMPLE

(this sentence is wrong)

(subject is one and two actions are joined by conjunction )

If you are joining two independent clauses always
use a comma before coordinating conjunction.

If independent clause is present on one side and
not on the other side then we will not use
comma.
EXAMPLE
She wanted to go but not in the rain.
not in the rain is not an independent clause hence NO comma.
I was tired but finished my homework.
finished my homework is not a complete sentence so NO

RULE 4
To correct a run on sentence.
EXAMPLE
He washed the car he cleaned the garage.(run on)
He washed the car , and he cleaned the garage.(correct)
It was very hot I turned on the fan. (run on)
It was very hot , so i turned on the fan. (correct)

Coordinating conjunction always comes
between two clauses. It does NOT come in
the start.
