I believe we can address the labor shortage of qualified programmers by first posting
the job openings for senior programmers internally. This will allow current qualified
programmer employees the opportunity to advance their careers. After internal hires of
senior programmers have been completed, we would post the senior programmer
position to outside talent to fill any remaining positions. We will also post an external
job posting to fill programmer positions vacated by those advanced to senior
programmers. To attract more talent and increase the applicant pool, of both the
remaining senior programmer positions as well as the regular programmer positions, we
will highlight the opportunity for flexible schedules and working remotely.

Programmers currently employed by the company have expressed they are not happy
with their roles as they have become stagnant and fear there is no room for
advancement. We can increase employee satisfaction of computer programmers by
implementing job enrichment. We will do this by allowing them to work on new projects
and giving them autonomy in some of their day-to-day responsibilities. By allowing
employees autonomy they can further their creative and innovative abilities, breaking
up the monotony of their day, and increase their knowledge and skills, leading to
greater job satisfaction.

B1.
One type of information necessary to gather during the job analysis is the qualifications
and certifications required of a senior programmer. It is essential to the position that
incumbents have proper education and certifications to perform the job efficiently. By
including this information in the details of the job posting we will eliminate applications
of those not qualified.
