TEFL.org-Methodology-Unit 4 Assignment

Task 1

The practice (controlled) part of my lesson plan would be sentence
organizing. I would prepare a story using past simple sentences only with the
title, “What did Ben do on Tuesday?” The verbs in the sentences are given in
parentheses (i.e., “After school, Ben did his homework.”) Each pair of
students would be given a few sentences of the story. First, the pairs would
need to fill in the past simple form of the verbs, also using “didn’t” if
necessary. Finally, students should cooperate to arrange the completed
sentences in order.

Task 2

The production (free) part of my lesson plan would be to ask students to
gather in groups of four to discuss what they would do if their family moved
to another country. I would set up a mingling activity where two students
would be native students of the country, and the other two would be
prospective students that would be planning to move. I would encourage the
native students to question the prospective students and try to convince
them that moving is a great idea. While not every sentence has to include
the TL, I would expect to hear quite a few instances of “What if,” “I would,”
and “What would you do?” This would indicate that students are applying the
taught TL.

2nd Attempt:

Task 1

The practice (controlled) part of my lesson plan would include a gap fill
activity. Sentences included in the activity would be as follows:

I went to the park yesterday.

Did you go to the park yesterday?

He went to the park yesterday.

She went to the park yesterday.

They went to the park yesterday.
