, Prelude
The person that I connected with for this report happened in a place that I would have never
thought I would find myself witnessing to someone. I was in the “Toys R Us” for adult do it your
selfers, Lowes. I was just perusing the isles looking at all the newest Kobalt tools when I was
approached by a young man that looked to be in his late 20’s to early 30s.
Part ONE: The Circumstances
This young man thought I was one of the employees, I don’t know why because I was not
wearing the typical Lowes red vest that most employees wore. I guess it was because when I
look at tools, I scan the SKU codes with my phone and search the internet for a comparative
price, or a better deal for the same or similar tools. He saw me scanning the SKUs so he walked
up to me and began asking questions about some hand tools. I was able to help him find what he
was looking for but during our conversation, he told me that I looked like I was in the military. I
told him that I was retired and now I am a Minister in my Church. We talked for a while because
I found out that he was ex-military. He asked me how long I had been working at Lowes; I
responded that I don’t work here and we and a good laugh. I asked him if he had a Church home
and he said that he hadn’t been to Church in quite a few years because he believed that God
exist, but the churches he attended seemed to be focused on the collection plate so he stopped
going. I apologized to him about that and told him that God does not condone that type of
behavior and asked him to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide him. I also recommended that he
return to reading his bible and shared the link to my Church’s Daily Bible Reading. As we were
walking out, I handed him one of my business cards and told him that I would like talk to him
more about Jesus. He seemed to be very interested and said he would give me a call. As I walked
