Assessment instructions:
1. This is a closed-book assessment. You are not allowed to consult your textbook, notes or any study
material during the assessment.
2. This paper consists of three (3) questions. Attempt all questions and sub-sections.
3. Begin each question and sub-section on a new (separate) page.
4. Show all workings and round off all amounts to the nearest Rand.
5. You can start downloading the question paper from 08:30. Go to myexams.unisa.ac.za and search
for TAX3761 Test 2025 to open the myExams portal and access the question paper. Choose
TAX3761-25-Y and click on the Assessment 3 tab on the dashboard.
6. Start uploading your answer file at 10:15 to allow time for any delays in the process. Only
submissions received up to 11:00 will be marked.
7. Your submission is done in the same Assessment 3 folder from which you downloaded the question
paper – you will find a grey button to Submit at the bottom of the page.
8. You MUST submit your answer as one pdf file. The file name of your pdf document must be in the
following format: Student number_TAX3761_02
9. Check the acknowledgment checkbox (“The submission is my own work”) and upload your answer
script and then click on the Save changes button.
10. If you experience any technical issues beyond your control when uploading, please send us evidence
of this (take a screenshot clearly showing the time and what the issue is) and email it together with
your script to Please do not send Invigilator App issues to this email address
– we cannot assist with those.
, Invigilator app instructions:
• Ensure you are connected to the internet to log into the Invigilator App and scan the QR code below.
If you encounter challenges scanning the QR code, enter the Exam Access Code below the QR code.
• The QR code is only scannable for a limited time (08:30-9:15) and can only be scanned once therefore
only scan it once you are ready to begin the Test.
• Do NOT finish the invigilation process on the Invigilator App until you have finished the Test.
• Keep the Invigilator App open on your cell phone during the assessment. You are not allowed to leave
or minimise the app.
• Once the QR code is scanned, ensure your media volume is turned up and place your smartphone
next to you.
• The Invigilator App will notify you with a notification beep when you are required to action a request,
which you should then perform.
• We recommend that you keep your smartphone on charge for the duration of the assessment.
• If you only have one device, you may access your Test in the Invigilator App by pressing the ‘access
Exam’ button in the top right corner of your app.
• Ensure you are connected to the internet to begin the Test as well as at the end of the Test. No internet
connection is required during the assessment.
• You must stick to the time limit indicated on this paper (08:30-11:00) even if the time displayed
in the Invigilator App is different.
• You can click the "Finish Assessment" button in the app if you finish early.
• After completing invigilation and following all app instructions, you must upload your Invigilation App
data. The submission on the App does NOT replace the normal upload of your script to the
myExams platform. If you experience delays uploading on the Invigilation App, please prioritize
uploading your script on myExams. In this instance, you can minimise the Invigilator App, go to
myExams and upload your script on the Invigilator App thereafter.
