lab Questions
1. How do the intake of nutrients and expenditure of energy relate to a metabolic level?
Balance is the link between energy and food intake, as well as energy expenditure and
storage. A positive energy balance is achieved when energy expenditure is less than
energy intake, resulting in energy storage predominantly as body fat. This is referred to
as calorie excess. When energy expenditure exceeds energy intake, the energy balance
becomes negative, and the body utilizes its fat reserves to lose weight. This is also
referred to as calorie deficiency. When intake matches expenditure, balance occurs
and body fat is maintained, regardless of whether the body weight is at, above, or
below norm.
2. Do you think you take in more calories than you burn in a day? Why or why not?
I take less calories then i burn, i feel i burn less calroies then i eat, i gain weight easly.
