We talked about where jazz first came from and how it has developed over the years into dancing.

We talked about Jazz dance and how that has been lost over the years (the original meaning of jazz dance)

We talked about dancing bodies and how they are sometimes sexualized or a body has to look a certain way. We also talked about stereotypes and racialized casting such as if someone was black they would not be casted specifically because they are black. We talked a little bit about what exactly a case study is.

We talked about the difference between black and white dancers and dancing. We also talked about a book from Brenda Dixon Gottschild called "The Black Dancing Body". We also talked about appropriation vs Exchange.

We talked a lot about culture for these notes and I chose an Irish culture and took notes on some things I knew but didn't know about the culture as well.

These notes help with inquiry questions and how to create good ones. Inquiry questions are basically questions you ask that require research and diving further into what your question means. We also got into a little bit of annotated bibliography.
