The Certified Professional Coder (CPC) examination is offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), and it is designed to evaluation a physician practice coder's knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and coding concepts in CPT, HCPCS level II, and ICD-9-CM (or ICD-10-CM), including the use of modifiers.
