Compare and Contrast how both female protagonists develop under oppressive societies in “The Color Purple” by Alice Walker and “Oranges Is Not The Only Fruit” by Jeanette Winterson.
I focus on how both female protagonists of both books overcome the oppression that they experience. Whilst they are on two different scales, there are some commonalities between character development which is what I am able to explore.
