The understanding of brain behaviour relationship is aided most by the study of behaviours that can be clearly defined and that are likely to be related to brain process that can be directly or indirectly observed. Behaviours that can be selectively affected by focal brain lesions or by specific pharmacological agents are there fore most often chosen for neuro psychological study.
