Paris-Sud (UPS11)

The main objective of this course is to introduce students of physics to the 'modern' formalism of classical (or Newtonian) mechanics, especially Lagrangian and Hamiltonian mechanics. An important part of the course will focus on introducing the variational methods and principles in mechanics, or more generally in theoretical physics. Additionally, the course introduces the students to the mechanics of rigid bodies. COURSE PRE-REQUISITE: Mechanics. Calculus. Elements of electromagnetism....

This is a calculus based electromagnetism course which goes into the details of dielectric and magnetie materials under electric and magnetic fields. The course presents boundary values problems and Maxwell's equations in their local and integral forms. In this chapter we covered: Addition of Vectors Multiplication of Vectors Vector Product Mixed Scalar Product Mixed Vector Product Cartesian-Polar-Cylindrical-Spherical coordinates Gradient of a scalar function Divergence of a vector...
