ERP
Gastcollege:
ERP = Enterprise Resource Planning
- Integration of business processes through a centralised IT system
- Integration of systems prevails over the excellence of each
composing application
- First concepts in the 60’s. Hype in the 90’s
- 99% of large companies are now equipped
- Not restricted to companies (universities, public organisations ,...)
- Existing systems are getting aged
15 million SME’s in the EU are unequipped
ERP’s are a SaaS = Software as a Service
Tips for software implementation
,1: be ready to have multiple hats
2: Understand the needs and pain points of your client
3: implement in multiple phases
We will implement one phase at a time, starting with what provides the
most added value to the project. This approach has the advantage of
enabling quicker deployment to production.
4: prioritise the odoo standard
The standard features of Odoo are the quickest to deploy, the simplest to
use, and require minimal long-term maintenance. We will always prioritize
a standard solution before considering the use of Studio or custom
development
5: Train key users
The SPOC (Single Point of Contact) is the project manager on the client’s
side. Together with our Odoo guide, they form the implementation team.
The goal is to train the client’s SPOC to become the internal Odoo expert
6: create a culture that values learning
The impact of AI on ERP’s
, ● Flow automations
● Automates translations
● Knowledge management
● Customer support

● LLM’s not yet able to understand the layers of an ERP architecture
Belgian e-invoicing

● Change to an XML format
● All invoices must pass by a centralised platform
A student association organizes weekly and special event parties. They
receive and distribute beer kegs, which they use for events and sometimes
sell to partner associations.
Their main challenges are:
● Avoiding loss of kegs, since some don’t come back after parties.
● Knowing how many kegs are available for the next party.
● Knowing how many kegs needs to be purchased
● Manage requests from other organizations
