Wat is het Asch experiment?
Een sociaal psychologisch experiment naar aanpassen aan een groep. Asch liet proefpersonen de lengte van lijnstukken inschatten. Hij liet een voorbeeld lijnstuk zien en vroeg proefpersonen in te schatten of het voorbeeld even lang was als lijnstuk A, B of C.
Het experiment ging er echter niet om of de proefpersonen de lengte konden inschatten, maar of proefpersonen zich aanpassen aan een groep. Uit de resultaten kwam naar voren dat 75% van de proefpersonen minstens eenmaal conformeerde aan de groep, in sommige gevallen was dit zelfs meer dan 90%.
