Primary Documents are important in the study of history. They remove the filters of other peoples perceptions and often give unique insight. You will be given a dozen documents in Blackboard over the semester, and your text has primary documents in each chapter. You will chose ONE document to write a 2 page paper (double spaced) which will summarize the document and then discuss something about the time period in which it was written, placing the author or document in historical context.
