This is an introduction to User Experience Design, and how it differs from Usability. The two terms often get mixed up, but these notes explain how they are separate concepts, but still connected.

This document is a summary of my notes from the lectures in the 1st Year, Semester 1 of UX Design Theories. It covers a lot of psychology behind design and what to do / what not to do when it comes to making a website. The topics include: usability, design principles & heuristics, human psychology & UX laws, persuasive design & dark patterns, and accessibility & universal design.

It covers what UX Design actually means, principles of design, how to make and structure a good website (as well as the planning process), accessibility & inclusiveness, and some technical aspects such as using HTML & CSS to code the website.
