How could the organisation change their ethical ways?

.The body shop could change their ethical ways by showing evidence that they use raw materials, as it is claimed that they are not as committed to creating desirable and sustainable products, which are inspired by nature. Their products are based on naturally derived ingredients. But the natural products have been reported that they contain extensive amounts of artificial colorings, scents and preservatives. Although the body shop defends that their products contain synthetic chemicals where they are necessary for the quality, safety or efficacy of products and where no suitable natural alternatives exist, it is going to give the public a negative impression for exaggerating their advertisement.The customers of The Body Shop are impacted by The Body Shop as they buy the products from them, without the customers The Body Shop will not be able to run the business. For example customers may be effected by one of The Body shop ethical issues e.g natural ingredients .This may impact the customers as they may not think that the raw ingredients are monitored with the appropriate efficiency at The Body Shop .As well as that customers may not believe fully that The Body Shop uses 1000% natural ingredients as the natural products have been reported that they contain extensive amounts of artificial colorings, scents and preservatives.This will be a problem with the company being ethical as customers are not believing them therefore giving them a negative impression of exaggerating the truth.Therefore I would recommend The Body Shop to show evidence of every ingredient in the product by giving every single ingredient out on the bottle to provide customers to see.This way they are being honest by providing all the ingredients on the bottle.

How could the organisation change their ethical ways?

Through their long term trading relationships, they do more than a fair price. They offer their suppliers a predictable and regular income for their family and the security and confidence to develop their own businesses.As the employee's’ aspirations include job security and diversity, a fair income, promotion and training opportunities. Workers’ rights, including a safe, healthy working atmosphere, fair wage rates and no discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, creed or sexual orientation are set out in The Body Shop Trading Charter. For example the employees at The Body Shop are impacted by the ethics of The Body Shop because if they were not ethical they won't get treated fairly and paid correctly. They could be forced to work unfair hours and in bad conditions and with The Body Shop being ethical the employees work happily and knowing they are being treated well. Therefore this affects them because they will be more willing to work for them and it won't be hard for the company to find employees.However, The Body Shop will suffer problems of the inflation of raw material.Therefore I would recommend The body Shop to treat their suppliers fairly by paying them above minimum wage and allow their workers with rights to make sure they have a safe working atmosphere, this will benefit The Body Shop as their workers will be motivated to work for a company like them if they treat them with fairness.It may improve The Body Shop to maintain a balance between reasonable profits and increasing costs with suppliers.Overall it will not benefit them to increase or maintain profits as well as customers and employees.

The use of natural resources – The Body Shop give the impression that their products are made from mostly natural ingredient .In fact like all big cosmetic companies they make wide use of non-renewable petrochemicals, synthetic colours, fragrances and preservatives , and in many of their products they use only tiny amounts of botanical-based ingredients .Some experts have warned about the potential adverse effects on the skin of some of the synthetic ingredients . The Body Shop also regularly irradiate certain products to try to kill microbes - radiation is generated from dangerous non-renewable uranium which cannot be disposed of safely.
