Measure, Transfer Chemicals
Safety:
Water is the only chemical used in the lab
for this experiment. Because it can make
the floor slippery and cause a fall hazard,
and because it can soak up chemicals left on
workbenches, any water spills should be
cleaned up promptly with a paper towel.
Multiple types of glassware are also used in
this experiment. Broken glassware is a
physical (sharp) hazard. Carefully and
promptly collect any broken pieces and
dispense of them in the broken glass waste
container.
Waste:
Water from the experiment may be disposed
of down the sink drain.
Wet paper towels used to clean up spills
may be disposed of in the trash can.
Broken glass must be disposed of in the
designated broken glass container.
Materials:
10 mL graduated cylinder
50 mL graduated cylinder
25 mL or 50 mL beaker
calibrated dropper
deionized water
