Instructions:
• This is a timed online Take-Home examination. It is a closed examination session.
• You will require a PC, laptop, or tablet. Smartphones can be used to photograph (scan)
handwritten pages and collate them into a file for upload and as Wi-Fi hotspots for
connectivity.
• You have 2 hours and 30 minutes to answer all the required questions.
• You will be given an additional 15 minutes to download the question paper and 30 minutes
to upload the answer sheet after the official examination time.
• Submissions made after the official examination time will be rejected by the examination
regulations and will not be marked.
• Clearly indicate your student number and all the required information on the front page of
your answer sheet.
• Read every question carefully before you answer and take note of the mark allocation per
question to determine how comprehensive your answer should be.
• Make sure that your writing is neat and easy to read.
• You must upload the answer scripts in a single PDF file (answer scripts must not be
password protected or uploaded as “read only” files)
• NO emailed scripts will be accepted. Please utilize the contingency link provided by your
module lecturer should you be unable to submit on the myExams platform.
• Incorrect file format and uncollated answer scripts will not be considered.
Preview submissions (answer scripts) to ensure legibility and that the correct answer script
file has been uploaded. Students are permitted to resubmit their answer scripts two more
times should their initial submission be unsatisfactory.

• Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on unofficial examination platforms
(including the invigilator cell phone application) will not be marked, and no opportunity
will be granted for resubmission.
• A mark awarded for an incomplete and/or illegible scanned submission will be the
student’s final mark. No opportunity for resubmission will be granted.
• Only the last file uploaded and submitted will be marked.
• Students who have not utilized invigilation or proctoring tools will be deemed to have
transgressed Unisa’s examination rules and will have their marks withheld. If a student is
found to have been outside the invigilator app for a total of 10 minutes during their
examination session, they will be considered to have violated Unisa's examination rules
and their marks will be withheld.
• Non-adherence to the processes for uploading examination responses will not qualify the
student for any special concessions or future assessments.
• Submissions will only be accepted from registered student accounts.
• If at any stage of the evaluation, it is found that an individual other than yourself compiled
or help prepare the answers the lecturer can insist on confirming your understanding via
video oral examination.
• Submission of a document on or before the deadline means the student was present for
the exam.
• Students must complete the online declaration of own work when submitting. Students
suspected of dishonest conduct during the examinations will be subjected to disciplinary
processes.
• Students may not communicate with other students, or request assistance from other
students during examinations.
• Plagiarism is a violation of academic integrity and students who plagiarise, copy from
published work or Artificial Intelligence Software (e.g., ChatGPT) or online sources (e.g.,
course material), will violate the Policy on Academic Integrity and the Student Disciplinary
Code and may be referred to a disciplinary hearing. Unisa has a zero tolerance for
plagiarism and/or any other forms of academic dishonesty.
This is NOT an open-book exam. As such, software will be used to detect unacceptable
plagiarism percentage and to show that your work is not copied and pasted from other
sources.

Queries that beyond Unisa’s control include the following :

o Personal network or service provider issues, load shedding/limited space on personal
computer, crashed computer, using work computers that block access to myExams site
(work firewall challenges), unlicensed software (e.g., license expires during exams).
o Students experiencing the above challenges are advised to apply for an aegrotat and
submit supporting evidence within ten (10) days of the examination session. Students will
not be able to apply for an aegrotat for a third examination opportunity.
o Students experiencing technical challenges should contact the SCSC on 080 000 1870 or
via e-mail or refer to the Get- Help resource for the list of
additional contact numbers. Communication received from your myLife account will be
considered.
