This is a portfolio examination conducted on the myExams platform. As this is an openbook examination,
you must use your study guide and feedback from your marked assignments. While we encourage you
to consult and integrate material from additional sources into your essays, be reminded that your
primary source of material is the study guide. Therefore, your work must reflect that you at least
consulted the study guide.

The exam for this module is using the invigilator app. It is compulsory to use this app. Scripts of students
who have not utilised this app will be subject to disciplinary processes, and results will be withheld
pending the outcome of the disciplinary process. Your exam QR access code is embedded above. Please
read the instructions below on how to use the invigilator app during this exam. Alternatively, an
instruction document with the QR access code is also available under the ‘Announcements’ and
‘Additional Resources’ tab on the respective module and myExams sites.

• You should scan the QR Code as soon as you have downloaded your question paper during
the 15-minute download window before the ofÏcial exam start time per the timetable , i.e.,
at 07:45 on the day of the exam .
• Please take note that you can only scan the QR code for a limited time (30 minutes) after the
commencement time of the assessment and it should therefore be scanned as soon as possible
to start the invigilation.

, lOMoAR cPSD| 48243012

• Please take note that you can only scan the QR code once. Make sure you are ready to
start the assessment when you scan the QR Code.
• It is important to note that you must adhere to the time limit in your myExams assessment
as the invigilation time in the app could exceed the time allocated to complete your
assessment.
• Keep the Invigilator app open on your cell phone during the assessment. You are not allowed
to leave or minimise the application. You cannot minimise the application and use your
smartphone for typing. If you wish to use a smartphone for typed responses, you will
need an additional smartphone. If you finish your assessment before the app timer has
run out, you need to press the ‘Finished assessment’ button and follow further
instructions before you leave the app.
• If you experience technical difÏculties on The Invigilator App, contact the technical helpdesk
via WhatsApp on 073 505 8273.

Follow the guidelines in Tutorial Letter DVAALLD/301 for essay writing, citation and referencing. You
can download the tutorial letter from the module site on myUnisa. It is available in English, Sepedi, and
isiZulu. Direct quotations must be placed in inverted commas (“…”) with a page reference as explained
in Tutorial Letter DVAALLD/301. Only intext referencing is required. You DO NOT need to provide a
list of references at the end of your answer.

Plagiarism will be severely penalised. The University has a zero-tolerance policy stance on academic
dishonesty relating to assignments and examinations. All students are encouraged to familiarise
themselves with the academic writing requirements prescribed by Departments and the content of the
University’s policy for copyright infringement and plagiarism. All students found guilty of academic
misconduct will be referred for disciplinary action and may have marks withdrawn and face up to a
maximum of five years
suspension from the University and all other universities in the country. See UNISAs student policies
and rules: https://www.unisa.ac.za/sites/myunisa/default/Study-@-Unisa/Student-policies-&-rules.

Your answers must be your own work, in your own words. Group work will be equally penalised as will
any form of copying from any student, or any attempt to commit academic dishonesty. No scanned hand-
written scripts or scanned typed responses will be accepted in this exam. Submit only word-processed,
PDF-converted scripts.

You will be asked to agree to an academic honesty pledge online before you are allowed to upload
your exam file. Please click on the pledge to confirm your academic honesty. Your exam submission
is linked to Turnitin and you must therefore accept the Turnitin End User Licence Agreement
(EULA) upon submission.
