Contraindications/Precautions
Low albumin, suicidal ideation, alcohol or drug abuse, liver Nursing Interventions

Watch for respiratory depression,
suicidal ideation, increased
depression, or unintended loss of
consciousness.


Interactions
Opioids, other sedatives, probenecid, valproic acid, zoloft,
and ambien

Client Education
Take as directed without sudden
interruption. Watch for abnormal
Evaluation of Medication Effectiveness changes that are unexpected.
Relief of anxiety, insomnia, or continued status epilepticus. Expect drowsiness and potential
loss of consciousness.
